Are you sure? There are a lot of ubuntu based distros out there:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Ubuntu-based_distributions

and that list is not complete. For example

http://crunchbang.org/projects/linux/

is not in that list.


My favorite is ubuntu 8.04
