I stumbled on this http://wiki.novell.com/index.php/Locking_Down_the_GNOME_Desktop the other day. It seemed to suggest that flipping conf.use_system_prefs to true would allow you to control other aspects of firefox like the homepage, and other lockdown settings with gconf.

My searching also seemed to indicate it was a Novel specific FF patch to allow more than proxy settings to come from gconf.

Does anyone control firefox for a substantial number of workstations? Im looking for ideas. I suppose I could modify the global prefs file and lock settings but I am also interested in some kind of global bookmarks where multiple users have access to the same bookmarks.
