Hi ,

Sometimes i get this icon located in the upper right corner of the screen which informs me about available updates.
There are some updates i want to install and some i dont,so i mark these i want to install and unmark all others.
The problem is that when i had already installed all updates , the ones that i'm not interested in, are still 'available' for update.
I want to get rid of this icon after installing wanted updates.

Need some help,

Have a nice day ;)

Just FYI, I would recommend you always install all updates, since they often fix bugs and security issues. But if you really want to keep some packages from updating:
System -> Administration -> Synaptic.
Search for and select one of the packages.
Click Package -> Force Version.
Select your current version. It shouldn't offer those updates to you anymore.
