View Full Version : [ubuntu] Hardy+Catalyst8.8+Wine1.1.3+WoW2.4.3

On monday i did clean install on my comp hardy8.4.1
then installed ati drivers 8.8, compiz worked well and here some log from installation

did it with method2(manual) from http://wiki.cchtml.com
method1 also worked(with reposities) what worked well

than i got installed wine1.1.3 and wow2.4.3 when i start wow client screen turns to this

and that screenshot is taken with 8.8catalyst, with 8.3(from repositieries) had no problems running wow client

comp specs: ati radeon x1600, 2GB ddr1-667,asus a8v-xe, ubuntu hardy 8.4.1, wine 1.1.3

alienarena and quake3 worked well but wow+wine dont.
have tried to google and search from all kind of forums for help but nothing found yet. so anyone notice something strange or wrong in those?

been searching around the web all kind of tips for this, but just seems it's bug between wine and ati drivers.

I have more or las same problem but not with WOW but with Steam and any games on steam. Even wan i try to do survey on steam after couple of windows my screen looks like it was broken in 1000 squares and shifted all over.

I'm using Ati Radeon HD2900XT.

If any one can help please post.

same problem here, catalyst 8.8 manual installation (buildpkg), 4850, amd processor and uli board.

screen garbled exactly the way you described, unfortunately i have no idea how to fix it.

suggestions anyone?
