ATi 8.8 driver installation

Im new to ubuntu and was hoping someone could do a noob walkthrough on how to install the ATi 8.8 restricted drivers for my 4850, i will be playing games and i like my 3d effects. All help is greatly appreciated.

for installation guide, with it i got alienarena working for example but not wow under wine
