Hey, I had ubuntu 7.10 and I tried to look for wine in the add/remove programs. It didn't come up.so I spent hours upgrading to the new one 8.4 and I checked again, nothing. I tried going in Synaptic PAckage manager and it came up, I installed something, and it installed in the "other" folder in my application list. I go to it and click on it and it opens up, but gives me the message that I need to install Wine :(
I clicked "ok" to :"do you want to install wine now" and it gave me a error message
"You cannot install wine without having software-properties-kde installed."
I was confused, but I had nothing to loose, I went to Synaptic and searched for it and it came up, I ticked it and applied/installed. it finished and I tried again, still gives me the same error about software-properties-kde.
I also tried restarting... Nothing. can anyone help?
thanks :) tom
