I recently installed Feisty Fawn Ubuntu onto a dedicated HDD with no problems whatsoever. However, attempting to install Flash player has become quite frustrating. I downloaded Flash player to the desktop, unpacked into a new folder and accessed the installer. Terminal flashed and then disappeared. I have tried scripts that others have used sucessfully, to no avail. Primarily due to the fact that after scripting "sudo ./ flashplayer-installer", I am prompted for a password. No input appears when typed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Please install flashplugin-nonfree using Synaptic instead of installing the Flash plugin manually.

You should also consider using a newer version of Ubuntu; Feisty will be unsupported in a couple of months, and newer versions should be much better.
