I already have a partition to install ubuntu, but when I am trying to boot from ubuntu CD, it won't boot and just load windows vista normally.

I checked the CD on vmware and the disc is fine, it runs wth no errors, but I just won't boot, can I install it from the virtual machine or something? or what can I do?

I´ve got a toshiba Satellite A305

change boot order in BIOS to CD Drive followed by harddisk.

that way the BIOS will first search for CD Drive for booting and u should be able to boot the CD, assuming of course that ur CD is bootable.

I tried that, but for some reason, it won´t let me go into setup, it says f2 enters setup but it just won´t, any other way of changing that?

the cd is bootable, on my desktop pc it does boot

What type of keyboard are you using? USB or PS/2 I have had weird problems in the past where a bios would not interact with a/some USB keyboards.. they should all work with a PS/2 if this is your problem
