Hi I just installed Ubuntu a couple days ago and I downloaded a video file using Transmission. The downloaded file is a .rar file. So im trying to extract the files to be able to view them as a movie. So I went to Add\
Remove programs and installed 7zip. So I went to the video file and it gave me a different extracting program. So I tried using that, and I left it for about 3 hours. It still wasnt done extracting, so I just closed it. How do I use 7zip to extract the video file? Or the other program?

Thanks Help is appreciated :D

Install "rar" in Synaptic. That should enable you to extract rar files within the built in archive manager.

Thanks :D. The file is 2.4GB, how long do you think it will take?

Not really sure. It depends on your processor speed and available system resources.
