I reformat my computer when I install new OSs, or when I encounter a problem (most of the times) that leave me no choice but to reboot.

EDIT: forgot ot include a poll.

The only time I formatted was when I got a virus 5 years ago. I have never had the need to format with windows or linux... that's just such a hassle for me to reinstall everything

I reformatted my laptop entirely to get rid of Vista, never done a full reformat before that or since.

Formatting when you run into a problem is the easy way out. It's far better to learn how to actually fix the issue in question.

Trust me, in the corporate world there is no such thing as "We'll just format your server and reinstall everything" It's hard enough even trying to schedule a reboot.
