Hi,
I have just installed Hardy on a machine.
After installing I went to install the updates - 233 or so of them. Each time I try, the whole system hangs. The clock doesn't progress, mouse doesn't work and ctr-alt-backspace doesn't work either.
I have tried several times both with the GUI updater and sudo apt-get upgrade from the console.
The machine has had an installation of Hardy on before but on a different disk and the current disk used to have it on, but on a different machine.
I have looked around and there were some posts about the hosts been wrong, but mine is fine, i.e. no domain before the hostname.
How do I fix this?
Many thanks,
Ian
