I have to install "alsa-driver-linuxant_1.0.17.5-1_all.deb" to my Ubuntu in order to install a driver to get my dial-up modem working, how do I install this file? (It came off a website and is in my home folder)

If you really want to install from a terminal,
dpkg -i alsa-driver-linuxant_1.0.17.5-1_all.deb

Make sure you use "cd" to get to the correct directory first ;)
