Instalation of UBANTU (alternate CD) failes on "Select and install software" step... Gets to 6% then freezes then gives an error.
Any help?
I found a similar thread in here https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/228416
But thereis no help.

Did you check that the md5sum (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HowToMD5SUM) matches and also the cd for defects?

Edit: What was the error?

No i didnt check the sum matches, but from google searches i found out that bunch of people are having same problm with the step getting stuck on 6%.
I burned another cd..... it got stuck again, then like after 5 minutes it continued as if nothing happened.... so right now its installing fine.
I dont know what was the problem.
TY fo help

Normally it will hang at 6% when installing, but normally it does not give you errors. Glad you are past the problem.
