I was upgrading my 7.10 to 8.04LTS
but it hanged in here:

ldconfig deferred processing now taking place
Setting up belocs-locales-bin (2.4.2.2ubuntu7) ...
Setting up locales (2.7.9-4) ...
Installing new version of config file /etc/belocs/iso639.def ...

and almost all programs are already removed
[vbox isn't, so I'm in a windows xp guest machine to use iexplorer cause mozilla is removed]

anybody could help me? it's really serious

fixed =D

i killed all the processes that was holding back the upgrade until the upgrade aborts
so, i screwed thewhole system

so i went into recovery mode in the very first kernel i had
and did went to root shell
so:
dpkg --configure -a

and all locales stopped holding back
when i boot back to gnome, it was all working fine

thats it, for those who got the same issue

Sorry that nobody responded to your post, unfortunately it may sometimes take a little more then 2 hours for someone to respond to posts as it all depends on who's reading it, what part of the forums its posted and if they know the answer to your problem. I am sure plenty of people could respond with "I don't know" but that wouldn't get the problem solved. :) I have posted a few posts that know one replied to but have managed to fix them myself or with the help of google. Glad that you managed to get the problem fixed! :cool:
