Hi,

i installed kdebase package as follows

sudo dpkg -i kdebase-bin_3.5.9-0ubuntu7_i386.deb

ldconfig deferred processing now taking place

1) what is meant by "Processing triggers for libc6" ?
2) what is meant by "ldconfig deferred processing now taking place" ?

I won't answer your questions, but I hope that you are aware of what you are doing when using dpkg, and not using apt, and that probably you've just destroyed your KDE?
