Last night I was trying out the window manager xmonad. Since there was some tweaking left I decided to continue with metacity during work hours.
I removed export WINDOW_MANGER=xmonad from .gnomerc but to my surprise: When I logged in to my Gnome session there were no panels and no window manager.
When using a failsafe Gnome session metacity starts up so I'm assuming there is some config-file in my home-directory that is causing the problem. But a search with grep -r -i xmonad $HOME reveals nothing except the bash-logs.
Any suggestions?
