Hi all,

The hard drive on my laptop is showing signs that it may fail sooner than I'd like...
I have an adapter that will let me connect a replacement drive by USB.
What tool can I use to "clone", or copy an image, of the failing hard drive?

Thanks,

-Marc

I have not used it yet myself, but clonezilla looks very promising...

You can use gparted. Boot and run it from a live CD since you can't work with a mounted partiton. You can copy your HD partitions to the USB drive as long as there is room.
