some gnome aplications stay grey: Help!

I have suddenly a problem with gnome.
Some applications stay all grey when I launch them. These are:
- gnome-commander
- rhythmbox
- f-spot
- disk usage analyzer
- and more

I thought that maybe a sudo dmesg | tail would be usefull. Thhis gives me the next error:
"gnome-vfs-daemo[16518]: segfault at 00000000 eip b7c7bd2a esp bfada7ac error 4"

Are these related? Does anybody know what I could do now to fix this?

Ubuntu 8.04.1 on asus eeepc 901

I tried another user account. But there I have the same problem. So it is not a configuration problem. But what else?
