although ubuntu uses Rhythmbox as default player, I found there were problems with it, so I start to use Amarok again.

I often can't change tags of some mp3, after I edit them, it will return to old information when I reload it. I don't know why. And after I installed Amarok, I found some characters in information edited by Rhythmbox lost. Maybe that program is not perfect.

I found Amarok worked well in Gnome. but someone said software for KDE should not be used in Gnome. Why?

I use Easytag (in the Synaptic repos). Another good tool to have is soundconvertor.

thank you for your suggestion. I'm a new member here, so I don't know what's "one of the quick reply icons".

I think there is no need to use a tool to edit the tags. Amarok can play music and edit information well. but the problem with Rhythmbox still exists.
