Is it possible to install Ubuntu from my Windows XP Home Edition, then uninstall Windows XP Home Edition, and still have Ubuntu?
Will I have to install Ubuntu on a different partition? Because I don't know how to do that.

just dual boot XP and Ubuntu, if u want to try ubuntu.
otherwise install ubuntu over ur XP by overwriting the entire disk, if u want to get rid of XP now itself.
i will recommend dual boot XP & Ubuntu.
how many partitions do u have.

I want to have Ubuntu as my only operating system, but then I want to install Windows XP Home Edition through Virual Box.It is all part of my plan.
I just made two partitions that are in equal size. I am now installing Windows XP Home Edition on one of them, then I will install Ubuntu on the other.
