Installation problem to ACER Aspire 1350 laptop

Hi all, I am trying to make a clean installation to ACER Aspire 1350 laptop and I cant do it.
My laptop in the middle of the installation stops and in a black screen with "ubuntu@ubuntu:~$" waiting....a command. Sme other times says that the X can't load. Can anyone help me?

You'd do better with the Alternate CD. Post your specs.
