View Full Version : [ubuntu] Sound Glitches After Hardware Upgrade

I recently upgraded my computer to get with the times. I replaced the CPU, motherboard and RAM.

AMD 6000+
ASUS M3N72-D Motherboard
4Gb, 2x2GB Corsair RAM

Also notable hardware...
200GB HDD
ATi X800XL PCIe video
Connected 500GB HDD via eSATA

Everything seems to work fine except my audio. I can start up a song and it will sound almost right but then it will start to glitch. Does not work on LiveCD boot either. Works fine in XP though. Not to sure what to do but I have been looking around. Any ideas? I will post whatever info you might need.

Any ideas? I have tried looking at some stuff about the mother board and it seems to be a somewhat common problem with the M3N series but I haven't found anything specific to mine.

What is the sound chip on that mobo. if it is an HDA chip, you can try here:

Id upgrade to the 2.6.27 kernel
