View Full Version : [ubuntu] Installed through Windows installer, how to resize disk image?

Hey there. I had Windows Vista x64 Ultimate taking up my whole hard drive, so I opted to install Ubuntu through the Windows installer (the one that comes up when you insert the Cd on a windows machine)

So I have ubuntu working. So well that I want to give it more space!

So... how can I do that? If I am correct in my understanding of how the windows install is set up, there is a file on my windows partition which contains ubuntu. Can I just use gparted to edit it's size? or what?

windows vista has a built in function to shrink a partition and gparted has a function to increase the ubuntu partition.

It is not all that easy when you used Wubi. But it can be done and is documented here:
