installation fails at 90%

hi

I tried to install ubuntu on my pc but the installation fails at 90% when the system wants to configure the hardware.
after like 30min it's still on 90%

my specs are:

Intel E6750
gf 8800ultra
gigabyte p35 ds3
2gb curcial ballistix 667
samsung f1 750gb hd

I did the cd integrity test, so i assume its not the cd. anyone knows if there are know compatibility problems with any of these components?

I'd try the Alternate CD.
