[SOLVED] Trouble installing. Python GTK error on start

So, after having many issues, i finally decided to reinstall. however, using the same CD i used before, now when i hit 'install ubuntu', after the loading bar gets almost full, it goes into a terminal with a python error about gtk. it doesn't really stay long enough for me to read it. Then it goes to a prompt and sits there. It didn't used to do this. Help?

Also, the liveCD option gets a low graphics mode error =/

Seeing some Ubiquity errors as well

EDIT:
Apparently it just hated my monitor. tried a new one, and it boots to the installer no problems.. ViewSonic Vs11349 is model that didn't work.
