Installing Ubuntu on a Acer One laptop

Hello folks,

I did some searching and I didn't find any topics related to the Acer one. I'm wondering a few things:

1. How to install it via USB drive (no external CD-ROM)
2. How much space will Ubuntu (hardy) take up? I have 8GB of SSD to work with.

That's it! Of course that looks easier said than done.
