This is a little bit weird: I have a dedicated 'homes-server' setup in my environment so that my home directory goes with me wherever my Unix account does on my network. I was tinkering with the homes server, and ended up disconnecting the homes NFS while I was logged into 3 different computers. On 2/3 of the computers I was logged into nothing happened. But the third one froze up and I had to reboot it. When it came back up I logged into it and saw that my network-home directory was there, but all of my settings were reset back to defaults! On the other computers my settings remain intact, but on THIS computer they were reset.
I have to wonder how this can be, because the settings are all saved in my home directory. How could SOME computers load my settings and others not??? Please Help!
