Please help a newcomer to Ubuntu server! I have an ubuntu virtual machine I use as a Subversion host. Ubuntu server 6 was working fine but I just upgraded to server 8 (via update notification).
Unfortunately, somehow the installation overwrote a permissions file (maybe?) as I can no longer login to administer my subversion repositories. I had an xubuntu ui installed to make it easier for myself, in case that makes a difference.
Subversion is still running - I know this because I can commit changes from my workstation to the repository. But no I can't login to do any of my maintenance tasks.
Is there a way to get the password reset to null or a default?
Big oops! I should have left well enough alone.
Any suggestions as to how to save myself?
Thanks for any advice -
Ann
