View Full Version : [ubuntu] Installing on IDE & SATA system as extra boot

Here's my hard drives:
C: 320GB SATA NTFS Windows XP
D: 500GB SATA NTFS My data
E: DVD combo drive
F: 80GB IDE NTFS

One of the drives (500GB SATA) already has a small partition dedicated to Battlefield 2. When I boot my system it asks whether I want to boot to my creative Windows partition or my BF2 partition.

What I'd like to do is completely wipe the 80GB IDE drive and install Ubuntu onto it. I just split the 80GB into 30GB Windows/50GB Linux, installed Ubuntu and the option to boot didn't get added to my boot menu.

Any tips before I go ahead and install?

I've heard something mentioned about swap drives - I have 4GB of RAM.
