Ubuntu friendly web cam for Notebook, What is your brand and model?

I am planning to buy a webcam in order to use it with my laptop. I am wondering which brands people usually use which is completely compatible with Ubuntu.

Logitech is supposed to be quite compatible with Ubuntu...

What applications do you want to use with this camera? I know that only Kopete supports work with camera in linux. May be I am wrong?

My dad bought a random Microsoft cam and it worked out of the box. Using Cheese as capturing program.
