View Full Version : [ubuntu] 8.0.4 upgrade bombed after locale fix

While upgrading to 8.0.4 there was a stall in locale (documented) and after getting past it. I now can boot to another kernel in restore mode, but no log in screen, just a orange blank.

When I run the command in restore mode:
dpkg --configure -a
I get this:

dpkg: too many errors, stopping
dpkg: ../../src/packages.c:251: process_queue: Assertion `!queuelen' failed.

I can't work on the xorg till this in installed. We essentially have lost where it bombed in the upgrade. I would hat to have to rebuild the whole thing as it is a mediacenter running lots of hard to rebuild processes.

Any help or direction would be very appreciated, this was asked about in another thread but was ignored twice and the thread got off track.
