I know it's a PCI card and is either a modem or ethernet card. But I need to know which one it is.

On the front of it, inscribed beneath the jack, it says:

LINE
R2760276
A353

I know that RJ-27 is phoneline and RJ-45 is ethernet, so I am pretty much guessing that this thing is a simple modem. Am I right?

I would say that is a phone jack, and therefore a dialup modem.

I agree.

Possibly a Winmodem, because of the lack of modem hardware and the phone jack. The modem signal is decoded by software. Winmodems are difficult to install because of this.

Found it - it's a Conexant KB5815G
Device type: Modem (ISDN, 56k)

Look on the PCB.

Ok. Thanks. I guessed it was that, and then confirmed it by trying to plug an ethernet cable into it, which for obvious reasons didn't work.

Thanks for your responses :)
