Gems of 'your country' project?

Good day everyone! Being here I have found that we do not know much about other countries in general. We all have great cultures, great things to show to each other. Ubuntu is about community, friendship and cooperation, so let's share all we know about our countries, about great people living there, about great places and our great heritage we have. There should be a short info about a given person or a place we're talking about and lots of pictures of course (we all love pictures, right?).

The thread title should look like (for instance):
'Gems or Russia: Mikhail Vrubel' or 'Gems of China: The Great Wall'

Would it be interesting? I'd love to hear voices of mods and their thoughts also.

No I actually made this thread to find out is it intersting to people. I actually had an idea of making separate threads for each person/place/event we would like to tell people about. I'm not sure if it's needed here at all and how it should be presented, that's why I ask mods to say something also. Not sure about a name also. It's just a proposal.
