At the moment "Bio-Fuels" are basically "Cash Crops" i.e. crops used in the food industry.

In a few years "Bio-Fuels" will be made from Algae

Current use of "Cash crops" is a quick stop-gap measure till the sustainable Algae farms are created and used for fuel.

It's not ideal (current world economy is basically tanking!) as it forces up daily food stuffs for developing and western cultures.

But since Oil will probably run out within the life time of the youngest poster here! and Alternative fuels and energy sources are not being developed as quickly as we would like. We have to make hard choices.....

Only way out current energy crisis will be stopped is with "Cold Fusion" reactors. Which will only be possible once we get Warm super conductors technology affordable and reliable.
