How I get the right screen resolution for the onboard video chip without installing the nvidia driver.
1.I download en burn this Ubuntu CD : 7.10 alternate-i386.iso
2.install in text mode follow the instructions .
3.At one moment I get a screen were you can choose the resolution.
4.Finish the install .
5.Then update to 8.04.
( by the 8.04 alternate I don't get the option off choosing the screen resolution?)

By my new computer

asus
T3-M3N8200 MCP78S, SATA2, VGA onboard: Integrated GeForce 8200 GPU
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ 2.5GHz AM2 65W
Asus DVD-/+/RAM 2014S1 20x/20x/14x
Corsair 2x1GB DDR2 SDRAM PC5300 CL4.0 TwinX
Samsung 500GB SATA300 16MB, HD502IJ

I have to do this to install ubuntu, choose languages enter
go with arrows to install Ubuntu press f6 en type in all_generic_ide and press enter.

If I try this with ubuntu 7.10 alternate-amd64.iso or with ubuntu 8.04 alternate-amd64.iso
it doesn't work (no floppy)
