Hey guys. I want to get a version of Ubuntu Mailed to me on CD for my PS3. But I would like 7.10 or 8.04.1 (As, 8.04 does NOT work with PS3.)

Problem is, under "Get Ubuntu" on the Ubuntu Website, they only offer 8.04. They dont have 8.04.1 or 7.10. Where can I get these? (I'd prefer to have them mailed, but I could easily download them.)

Also, does 8.04.1 work with the PS3? (8.04 does NOT. But people have told me that 8.04.1 works. Is that true?)

Not sure if you can order older releases of ubuntu from shipit. But If you decide to download them you can use these links:
http://releases.ubuntu.com/feisty/
http://releases.ubuntu.com/gutsy/
http://releases.ubuntu.com/hardy/

Do they have, 8.04.1 on the Hardy link?

EDIT: Thanks man. This is what I need.

All hardy downloads are now 8.4.1, even the torrents

Which one do I download and burn to a DVD/CD? I want to install this onto a PS3s HDD. Do I download the SERVER CD or the DESKTOP CD or ALTERNATIVE CD?

Sorry, I gave you the wrong link. You are better of to install using the powerpc alternate iso or powerpc desktop iso. See here (http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ports/releases/8.04.1/release/) for the download link. Here (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/PlayStation_3) is also a howto from the ubuntu wiki

Hi

I am just starting to investigate the installation of Ubuntu onto my PS3...

Can someone confirm if I can use the 8.04.1 powerpc iso on it's own? I'm thinking I can't as it doesn't seem to include the otheros.bld file and my PS3 doesn't let me use it to install, but I just wanted to know as I might be doing it wrong...

Have people got 8.04.1 installed on their PS3? Should I bother trying or should I go with the 7.10 with the PS3 patch?

Once 7.10 is installed could I upgrade to 8.04.1?

Really appreciate it if someone could clear up my confusion! :)

Thanks

Matt
