The only reason I can think for habing that much power is gaming (Gaming with a touchpad, yeah....) or virtualisation (likely to melt your lap...). Seems a bit overkill to me. If you are going to need that much power, I doubt you will need to carry it around, though I couldnt help wanting one! :P

I usually use nearly all 4GB memory when editing large images with GIMP.

Anyone trying to run Vista?
lol that's actually wuite true. I tried vista with 2 GB ram and it was too slow. A bunch of my friend wouldnt believe that it was slow so when they got it they told me it wasnt slow at all. When I saw there desktop computer, it had 4 Gb ram the newest nvidia card and a quad core...

Anyway, I would rather have a desktop with a good amount of ram (about 2 GB) and a very powerful processor than 4 gb of ram. I would also rather have a laptop with 256 ram PIII cause then I would care about how large my kernel was etc. :P

Lord Xeb

You can just upgrade the CPU in this bad boy! And no the X series would not. They do not have that strong of a GPU in them.

OH SHI- The X series uses DD3 ram! *jaw drops* It would out preform this computer! But not in graphics >_>
