deskbar-applet as a search box in panel

How can I configure deskbar-applet to put a search box in my panel, that acts the same way as the box that appears when you click the magnifying glass icon? I have seen this done before on a previous distribution I briefly used. Thanks.

The Deskbar developer decided to remove that option from the applet, so it's not possible any more. :/

What I can't understand is why Deskbar won't search with the latest version of Firefox - I've got 3.0.1 installed, and Deskbar apparently will only do web and history searches with versions 2.0.0.0 to 3.0.0.0

Surely most Ubuntu users have accepted the latest Fx update?
