W.T.F,

I have downloaded the following drivers for my sound card:
Creative X-Fi FATAL1TY PRO

http://www.linuxscrew.com/2007/09/27/creative-sound-blaster-x-fi-linux-driver/

And guess what, i end up with an unbootable ubuntu with the odd "grub has not loaded".

So i start fresh, i think it's high time i reformatted my ubuntu... I try it again, doesn't work, doesn't even install.

Has ANYONE got any ideas of how to use my soundcard at all (i don't even care about the interface of the software for the card), i just want to listen to music in my damn ubuntu.

Christ i'm frustrated, put me out of my misery, please. I have tried more than the above and i cannot begin to explain what i did.

Don't let Ubuntu beat me! *cries*

on the computer you are using this do you have an onboard sound card? (i.e. integrated audio)?

if you have integrated audio see if ubuntu naively supports that, as it very well should. Creative is stepping it up but if you just want sound use the onboard.

Thankyou for your reply.

Yes the onboard sound works but i just feel beaten if i do not use the Creative Sound blaster.

Ok, so i bought it for windows but Darnnammit i will make it work in Ubuntu. Thanks for your help bud!

Any ideas?
