With the recent post linking to the youtube video about "Googles Master Plan", I am willing to explore other search engines.

I tend to be a bit on the paranoid side, so leave me alone :lolflag:

Anyway, I find the top 4 search engines out there (to my knowledge), which one do you prefer or think is comparable to Google's search?

Since I am a little paranoid like you, I use Scroogle (http://scroogle.org/) instead of Google (http://www.google-watch.org/).

Got to make precautions :)

You could also try Clusty (http://clusty.com/) to see if you like it.

None.

I have had some doubts about google in the past, but I'm over it now.

I don't really care anymore.

They are just a company trying to make a profit. I have no reason to assume they are out to collect every thing I do on the internet to use against me or something.

There is nothing as good as google's search. I know, I've tried them all.

I like SearchMe. It's not fast but it displays the home page of the web site related search string. One very nice feature is stacks.

I have a stack for News, Linux, MMA, Woodworking and a few others. This way I can browse pages directly on one screen without having to jump back and forth or open new windows or tabs.

It is sloooow so it is not for intensive research. However, for sites you go to often just to see updates, it is excellent!

Started using Cuil. So far, it is a vast improvement over its initial debut.

+1
IXQuick is the only search engine I use, because of it's Privacy Policy.
