I am running an hp laptop, and successfully installed xubuntu on a brand new partition. Xubuntu runs perfectly fine, but now I can't run vista. When I choose it from the menu it says autocheck not found then gives me a session manager error, c000021a. I tried the recovery cd and startup recovery said it fixed it, so I rebooted and it gave me the same error. Back to the cd, now startup recovery crashes. Can someone please help me?

tried recovery cd again, attempted to run a chkdsk, won't let me run anything against that drive, not exactly sure why. More info on startup, says can't find autocheck and won't run it?? anything I should do?

See what works for you, then post back with the results in case anyone else runs into your problem, lemtargatwing. (interesting name, spelled the way it sounds.)

Well, I edited the menu.lst in the /boot/grub folder but everything in there was just fine. Currently I'm working on trying to fix the bootloader for vista (gotta get my recovery cd back from my gf, left it at her house last night). Thanks so far with the help, will keep you updated.
