New Programs?

I just installed Hardy Heron and I am wondering what recommendations for great programs are out there that I should install. I am looking for the most useful programs for the average user. :popcorn: Also any GUI C++ compilers (similar to visual studio) recommendations are useful too.

for C++ IDE I use Netbeans.
there are also many other choices like Eclipse , Code::blocks etc

Imagemagick is a program that is really useful.
