New Linux user here.
I'm trying to install ubuntu-Hardy Heron on a laptop that just meets the requirements. I've had Windows XP on it and have 384Mb ram. The one issue that I'm afraid I'm running into is that I know the battery does not work. This laptop _has_ to run off of AC power.
When running a live session I frequently get a message about the battery discharging. After trying to install I get up to the "Prepare disk space" at which point it leaves a partition for both Windows and Ubuntu under the "Guided" option. After selecting continue on the next screen to write the changes, my laptop just shuts down. Any advice?
