Hello, I was wondering if there is an option or addon in Gnome to make the tray behave somewhat like Windows XP's tray, in which unused icons can be hidden until an arrow is pressed.

Also, is there a way to permanently disable the wired network icon in the tray? Since I'm always connected, it's always there, and seems unnecessary.

Have you thought that you maybe your always connected because the wired icon is there?

I'm not complaining about being always connected, just that the icon is there, and unnecessary. :P

In XP, I believe there's an option to turn off the icon if desired.
