Well, after getting past all of my fears of dual booting considering all of the rumours, I started up my xubuntu cd and was going to resize my main drive and install a dual boot system. However, it won't let me resize it during the installation, so I canceled out and went to gparted, and it said I needed to run chkdsk on my main drive then restart twice. So I did, and it still tells me I need to do that. So I can't resize my drive, and I can't format the whole drive, since I have no way to backup any of my data (haven't gotten my terastation bought yet). So what should I do? I'm running an HP Laptop, DV6000 Series, 2GB ram, 250 GB HD, 230 main partition, 20 recovery. Windows Vista Home Premium x86. Any help is much appreciated.](*,) It's just so frustrating.

figured I'd update my position. I'm going to try and see if System Commander to see if that won't help a little bit. Still can't partition my drive, so still wondering what the heck is going on.
