View Full Version : [ubuntu] Can control local computers, but I cant control mine

I use terminal server client to control a couple of computers in my house when needed, but yesterday I wanted to control mine, and the connection fails.

It just says "connection refused".

I check the synaptic package manager and the computers have the same packages, xtightvncviewer vino and a few more....

Also I use the main computer to help VEry remote computers, so they reverse vnc to me, so as you know i did some port forwarding in my router (port 5500)

I do the connections using the internal IPadresses.

I do have the remote desktop settings enabled to see/control my desktop.

So what is this computer missing from the other ones?

Thank you

I scanned the ports on my main box and the port 5900 doesnt show up, I got 18255 as open unkown.

on other computers the port 5900 is open unkown.

So My question would be how do I open port 5900??

Edit: I have ssh server/client in all the machines.
