I couldn't find anything on this, but I was curious if someone know how to change the default player for movies and what-not to mplayer from totem if they both are installed. Thanks.

To change the media player that starts when you insert a movie CD/DVD:
Open your home folder. Goto Edit->Preferences->Media tab and change the applications for CD and DVD video.

To change the default player for specific media formats: Right click on the file, select Properties, click on Open With tab and select the application.

You may also goto System->Preferences->Preferred Applications->Multimedia tab and select the player from the list or add a custom command to it.

Thanks, I think the second part of the first post was what I was looking for. I just always hate using totem, the movies look like crap in it usually, especially compared to Mplayer. For some reason mplayer is all smooth where as totem is choppy with my mkv files.
