where do you think its better to host a project?
(both are not taken into account)

It depends. Google Code is much more basic - no webhosting is included other that Google Pages. Sourceforge is more complete, but also generally slower.

If all you need is an svn repository and basic bug tracking, Google Code is fine. If you need more advanced services, Sourceforge has more options.

Launchpad (http://launchpad.net).

What?
I'm definitely happy with the available services...

I think they're all awesome, but Launchpad and Google Code are my favorites. Sourceforge, while excellent, can be horribly slow sometimes :(

I use Launchpad myself, generaly impressed. No issues with it though I haven't hosted with anyone else so I can't say if it is better or not.

just started using googlecode and it seems easier and quicker to set up a small project than sourceforge, sourceforge can be horribly slow on dial-up

SVN is a source code control system - the full name is Subversion. There's a good online book on it here: http://svnbook.red-bean.com/
