Hello,
I see aMule 2.2.2 is out according to yesterdays blog on amule.org. I looked everywhere but the repos seem dramatically outdated... Is there any way to upgrade my aMule to the latest version without compiling it from source on my 8.0.4.0 Hardy? :(

Thanks :)

To install Amule 2.2.2 using DEB packages go to www.getdeb.net .

I'm surprised that not every Ubuntu user knows this site!? It has UPDATED packages for Ubuntu... lots of them.

Hope this helps you.

Ubuntu is not a "bleeding edge" distro. New versions of programs are added to the repo's with new versions of Ubuntu. In between though, it's bug and security fixes.

You're absolutely right. That's why I find Getdeb.net so helpful. Fedora is the best when it comes to have updated packages... but it's not as user-friendly as Ubuntu. I know because I once was in Fedoraland :) .

I love to have updated packages with new features and the only reason why I changed from Fedora to Ubuntu was Getdeb.net site. To be stuck with the same packages for 6 months is not my thing ;) .
