View Full Version : [ubuntu] Web pages don't load even on active connection?

Hi!

I seem to have this unusual problem that's just happened on my 8.04 install. I have had no issues with anything until today.

I can connect via Pidgin to my IM services etc. but web pages just get stuck on the connection part and fail to load. I'm running Vista on my other partition and it works fine.

I can't seem to find any diagnostics or anything in Ubuntu that might tell me why this is happening. I tried and removed Firestarter last night and flushed the iptables etc. incase it left any traces of itself and for the whole day it's been fine until now. Router has been reset and everything.

Can anyone tell me how I go about getting my connection working again? Note I tried the Blacklist in Deluge and it said it couldn't get the blacklist from the http server so it's not just Firefox. Thanks!

Edit: Pinging bbc.co.uk works, but pinging google.co.uk doesn't...

Edit #2: I think it might have been an issue with my ISP and maybe it just decided to turn itself on coincidentally when I booted Vista! =P
